Will Operate l'.G.K. and K L>. & 11. C. A.n article In the Edmonton Capital of recent date states that the Pa-ciilc Great Eastern Peace River extension, the bonds of which are guaranteed by the government of this province, will connect at the Alberta boundary with tho Edmonton, Dun-vegan &. B. C, line, now in course of construction from Edmonton north through the Peace«R.ver country, and thtLt both lines will be operated by the Grand Trunk Pacific as branch linea. After outlining the course of the Pacific Great Eastern from Fort Ueorgo north and east the article says: The E. D. & n. C. had its bonds guaranteed by the Alberta government from Edmonton northwesterly to the western boundary of the province. Steel js now laid to Sawridge, or within a few miles of it, about 75 miles from Edmonton, and grading «s well under way west of that. It is expected that by next fall steel will he laid to the Smoky river and grading finished on Round lake toward Peace llivttr Crossing, being built under the name of the Central,Canada railway. From Peace River Crossing it is expected that the Central Canada will be extended on the north side of tho Peace and Dun vegan, there to cro-ss the river again and connect with the E. D. & B. C, If the B. D. & B. C. is to-have east and west connections, it would seem that the most feasible way to get them is either to have the road operated or owned by the G.T.P. It would then, with the P.G.E., bo practically a new transcontinental-. The Peace River man who gave this information to the Capital says ihat the country to the north and west of the Peace, from Hudson's Mope to Fort Vermilion, is tho greatest lying out of doors. When asked ibout the climate In the Hudson's Hope district he said he would rather live there than in Vancouver.
