Charges will likely be preferred against a Prince George youth following a request by the board of school trustees for police investigation into the alleged drinking of liquor within the School District Number 57 dormitory at G55 Wainwright Street.
The report coincides with a request, Tuesday, by the board for progress of the Investigation which was instigated April !) by the KCMP.

A discussion between parents, representatives of the two youths, and members of the board revealed the name of a third youth, an outsider, who is alleged to have brought the liquor into the dormitory.

"We passed the resolution, yes," said Alderman Charles Cranston, "but none .of us here knew what was in the letter."
It   has   since    been    learned, that the  letter was 'dictated  by Alderman     Carrie  Jane     Gray, council   representative     on   the recreation   com mission. His Worship next insisted .that council     adopt   two     directives, agreed   upon   by   himself,   parks board chairman E. L. Pollard and Mrs. Pam Glass, president of the recreation commission.
Council denied his request that the   directives   be   made   mandatory, instead, adopted them  with the recommendation that they be forwarded to the two bodies, with the request that they be accepted. Frustrated at council's reluctance   to   force   the   directives through, His Worship said "it is too   had   that   this   council   lias not the   courage  of  its  convictions."
At one point he threatened that the board am? commission "will get a directive from the mayor 'if council can't see its way clear to do it  themselves."
Meanwhile at the recreation commission meeting, secretary Bill Scott flayed the "back-biting, bickering and animosity" that has marked parks board — recreation commission relations.'
"Unless we get* together on this thing and act like adults intead of 12-year-olds, as far as 1 am concerned, I'm washed up with the whole thing," he said. Also threatening to quit unless

Prince George-Rupert Train Derailed, Passengers Jolted
PRINCE RUPERT (CP) — Passengers were jolted Wednesday when the engine, express car and first coach of the Canadian National Railways Prince George-Prince Rupert train were derailed near'Woodcock. No one was injured.
The derailment also caused another day of sparse wire communication with the outside world for Prince Rupert. Canadian National Telegraph wires running alongside the track were damaged by the accident and there was only sporadic telegraph service until late Wednesday afternoon.

Mr. Williston explained how money was allotted for various projects and discussed the pro: posed Wenner-Gren project.
He also gave a detailed explanation on the proposed Columbia River Power development at Mica Creek, and told his audience that tenders have already been let to allow loggers to log out the Canoe River Basin in preparation  for the  initial  surveys.
