^Anchors Aweigh' Theme of Dance
The annual Beta Sigma Phi Stardust Ball was held recently in the Sacred Heart School auditorium. The    theme    of    the    dance
"Anchors Awcigh", was depicted by the expressive decorations made  by Ti  Omicron Chapter.
feach table held a centerpiece of a statue of <Popeye along with two large black fish.
They were made by Betty Falardeau and painted by Vcrna McCallum.
Both walls were covered with fishnets which sported sea-chests, mermaids and different types of fish.
The stage"'held a large "ship wheel with a blinking light on either side of it.
A fog-horn,  supplied by Ray
Falardeau completed the nautical scene.
A solo dance of the "Hornpipe" done 'to bagpipe music was done by Miss Lynn Corless, following which 10 girls from Sigma, Alpha Eta, and ITau Chapters dressed alike in shorts, middy tops and sailor 'hats, did another version of the Hornpipe in two lines at the center of •the dance floor.
Warren Holley was master of ceremonies and cold lunch of ham, salads, buns and coffee rounded out  the evening.

Italian Couple Married April 25
An Italian couple was united in marriage by Rev. Father McLennan at Sacred.Heart Church on April 25. The
room waj Tcofilo Ko-bazza and the bride was Rosfitta Borsalto.
Parents of the couple are in Italy.
The bride was given away, by Gianni Mlotto.
Her bridesmaid was. ; 'Mrs. Maria Pelizzarl and best' niati was Eliseo Rossi. ' The bride was -gowned. }n a full length lace over net dreys with a matching headpiece and three-quarter length veil.
MARY HAWORTH'S MAIL
College Student Hurts Parents by Not Writing
DEAR MARY HAWORTH:— My problem is my 21-year-old daughter and her negligence about writing ihome to her father and me.
Kate is an only child and lias been away in -college the last four years. The first two years she wrote regularly, but the last two years her letters have been very few. We have had six letters from her this school year.
It is true that we see her for a day or so, every couple of months, and talk to flier by telephone once or twice a month; but between tini'cs wo get no news from, her.
Futile Waiting Is Heartbreaking
It in heartbreaking to wait day after day for a letter and have none arrive. I have tried to be loving, forgiving and understanding about it, and write long newsy letters faithfully to her each week— but I never get a reply or an answer.
When confronted as to why she doesn't write, Kate says she has no time. Yet she has no classes or work on Saturdays or Sundays.
Is it asking too much of her to write at least every 10 days or two weeks? What is your comment on this problem? V.R.
Two Sides To Question
DEAR V.R.: According to the prevalent code of polite or considerate conduct, it isn't asking
too much of an absentee son or daughter, to write to loving, news-hungry parents twice a month; or even once a week.
On the other h^nd, if the absentee son or daughter fails to meet the parents' expectations on this score, and continue;) to disoblige after a series of fond or wounded reminders, there is probably no value in harassing the  subject  indefinitely.
One can-only experiment, sensibly, with possible ways-and-means of educating the shirker, indirectly, to become a consistent correspondent.
Maybe Parents Don't Understand
For example, if you were to put a brake on your insistent flow of lengthy, chatty, weekly letters, and wait a written reply from Kate each time, before writing her again, she might take the hint and do her share. This action probably would be more effective if you don't sound a reproachful note — and signify, simply, that there's not much incentive to pursue a correspondence that wins no response.
Also, if you've been initiating the periodic telephone talks, you might interrupt that practice too. Because if Kate hasn't 'that mode of contact to count on, she may pitch in and work at a written exchange.
You mention trying to be loving, forgiving and understanding as regards Kate's seeming incivility. But possibly you
Vanilla Pudding Supreme
Stir some cut-up marshmallows into pudding prepared with a mix for a soft lightness you can't achieve straight from a package, and fold in well-drained canned fruit cocktail for added flavor.
1   package vanilla pudding mix
2  cups miik
6 marshmallows 1 cup fruit cocktail
Turn pudding mix into small saucepan and gradually blend in milk. Cook and stir over moderate heat until mixture reaches boiling point. Remove from heat and cool a few minutes. Stir in quartered marshmallows. Cool to room temperature. Fold in well-drained fruit cocktail. Chill.
