A general meeting of the Be Where the Action is — Registration ’80 The Civic Properties and Recreation Commission is proud to introduce Prince George's first recreation registration. The theme for this event, “be where the action is, identifies the fall and winter programs that people can register for during Sept. 12. 13 and 14. 1980. Recreation registration '80 will be a combination of open houses, clinics, demonstrations, and finally registering for the program of your choice. Monday to Thursday, Sept. 8 to 11 will be scheduled with open houses, clinics and demonstrations providing the people with an opprtunity to find out what it is all about before they register. Friday night. Saturday and Sunday will be registration days. Anyone who wishes to register for minor hockey, figure skating, gymnastics or almost any fall or winter program will be able to do so at the Kin Centre I at Exhibition Park. Register the whole family at one time. Any non-profit group who would like to participate by setting up a registration booth and has not been contacted, can call Mary at 563-8802. Pre-school Recreation Leadership Workshop A pre-school recreation leadership workshop is being sponsored by Civic Properties and Recreation Commission, the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George, YM-YWCA, and the College of New Caledonia. With regret it was learned that His Honour Judge Bruce Howard will no longer preside at these ceremonies. He has been appointed to the Immigration Appeal Court. Refreshments for these ceremonies were originally provided by the Folk Society. When this group disbanded Immigrant Services Society took over. However after months of faithful service they were forced to abandon the project due to lack of funds. The Catholic Women’s League of St. Mary’s and Sacred Heart Churches volunteered their services and provided refreshments last Thursday. Perhaps other local groups would consider taking a turn as part of their contribution towards the community.
