Throughout the week various other promotional events are part of the entertainment. □ □ □ Kanadian Kid is featured at the National tonight, to be followed next week by Steven Lau, Canada’s only Chinese cowboy singer. □ □ □ Sugarfoot is featured tonight at the Tabor Arms Pub from 8 p.m. to midnight. □ □ □ The Dusters perform at the Alternate neighborhood pub tonight. Next Friday and Saturday will feature Wally Churchill. □ □ □ At the Croft, Leo (fiddle) and Bob (guitar) are featured to Sept. 6 playing, from 6 to 10 p.m. each night. A jazz session is head Saturday afternoon. □ □ □ Just Us, a Vancouver dance band, plays the Inn of the North’s 770 Room to month’s end. Following them from Sept. 1 to 13 is Broken Glass, a contemporary top 40 dance band. Following them, to the end of September, is Syndicate. Their sound features styles' of some of the big names in contemporary music. □ an The Royal Canadian Legon, branch 43 features Country Gold from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m tonight. Following them for Sept. 5, 6, 12 and 13 will be another popular local group, Duster. □ □ □ The Vienna Restaurant features Focus 3 tonight to month’s end. They play from 8 p.m. to midnight Monday to Wednesday and from 8:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Thursday to Saturday. After them, the popular Rhythm Pals return to Prince George. MOVIES Shanghai Surprise is featured at Parkwood theatre. It’s has a mature rating. □ □ □ One Crazy Summer is in its fourth week in town, playing at Plaza 400 Cinema One. It’s rated mature because of occasional coarse language and swearing. □ □ □ Top Gun has returned to Pla- za 400 Cinema Two. It’s rated for mature audiences. □ □ □ Also back for a second showing in Prince George is Ferris Bueller’s Day off. This is also rated for mature audiences. □ □ □ Local Famous Players theatres offer reduced prices each Tuesday: $2.50 for both adults and youth. □ □ □ Armed and Dangerous is in its third week here but is showing at Odeon Cinema One. It’s limited to patrons 14 years and older because of violence, very coarse language, nudity and suggestive language. □ □ □ Stand By Me, a film directed by Rob Reiner (who used to be in All In The Family) has come to Odeon Cinema Two. It’s rated mature because of some very coarse language and swearing. □ □ □ Karate Kid, Part II continues in the Odeon Cinema complex but has moved to Cinema Three from Cinema One for its eighth week in town. Starting at 7:10 p.m. this shares the bill with Nothing in Common, with Jackie Gleason and Tom Hanks, continuing for a second week.
