Schneider: ‘Willow Creek’ is not a ‘Dukes’ reunion
  "This movie was important for both Tom Wopat and me,” says John Schneider of “Christmas Comes to Willow Creek,” a CBS movie airing Sunday, Dec. 20. ”lt was an opportunity for us to show-what we were capable of doing besides the Duke boys. People will now be able to look at us more seriously than they did before."
  As Bo and Luke Duke of the CBS series “The Dukes of Hazzard," Schneider and Wopat became TV's best-known duo before taking their last ride in the supercharged General Lee in 1985. Now, the holiday drama reunites the two actors as new characters.
  They portray Ray and Pete, feuding brothers who are asked by their old friend Al (Hoyt Axton) to bring a truckload of gifts to the remote and economically hard-hit town of Willow Creek, Alaska. Only their compassion for the wheelchair-bound friend, who usually makes the trip himself, can persuade the two to endure four days together in the cab of an 18-wheeler. Adding to their difficulties are Pete’s teenage son Mike (Zachary Ansley), who detests his father, and Jessie (Kim Delaney), a woman the two brothers are still arguing over.

 Schneider is aware that many viewers will expect the movie to be a thinly disguised "Dukes" reunion. But he says that just the opposite is true.

says. "On the set. we started the 'Duke patrol' — whenever we slipped into old habits, we would cut, or one or the other would bein-structed to keep them out at all costs. When people see us in this, they'll know the relationship is real and different."
Schneider has devoted much of his time to his career as a country music singer, and recently completed a tour with the group Alabama
 ("Sold out everywhere we went,” he says.) He also has acting projects in the works with his Trail's End production company.
    "I don’t want Tom and myself te appear as bookends,” he says of his reunion with Wopat. “We’re good friends, but we're as different as two people can be. But there’s something about us. It's probably the best working relationship I've ever had.”
