Assman Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements DEATHS BODENHAM — Mrs. Meranda Alvina Bodenham passed away al Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm on Saturday, January 20, 1990 at the age of 80 years. Funeral service was held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm on Thursday afternoon at 2:00pm with Mr. Wendell Bailey officiating. Interment followed in the Tappen Cemetery, Tappen, B.C. Pallbearers were her 7 sons; Ken, Joe, Robert, George, John, Bill and Greg Bodenham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pioneer Lodge, Salmon Arm, in memory of Meranda. Bom in Nome, North Dakota on May 9, 1909,. Meranda came to Canada in 1918 and settled in the Sylvan Lake-Lacombe, Alberta areas, they later moved to Winfield, Alberta. In 1963 she came to B.C. and settled in Prince George where she stayed until her move to Tappen in 1980. In 1984 she became ill and was hospitalized, following her release from hospital she moved to Sun Valley Rest Home, Kelowna and later to Pioneer Lodge, Salmon Arm. Meranda loved children, as is evident by her family, she also enjoyed travelling and flying was the "only way to go*. Music and reading were an important part of her life as was her crocheting, photography also played its part, as the car always had to be stopped whenever she saw something to photograph. In her younger days, Meranda also liked to ride horses. Predeceased by her husband William in 1983 and by 1 brother and 1 sister, she is survived by 7 sons and 5 daughters; Ken (Jean) of Comox, Joe (Lana) of Hornby Island, Robert (Lorraine) of Quesnel, George (Jenny) of Victoria, John of Kitimat, Bill (Leigh) of Prince George, Greg (Gail) of Armstrong, Margaret (Stan) Pinyon of Tappen, Violet (Duane) McDonald of Quesnel, Irene (Norman) Pinyon of Quesnel, Christina (Grace) Hen-nig of Vancouver and Lil (Wayne) Henderson of Kelowna, 40 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 3 brothers; Elmer (Marion) Nelson of Campbell River, Willard (May) Nelson of Nanaimo, Norman (Dorothy) Nelson of Red Deer, and sister in law Jean Nelson of Campbell River, 3 sisters; Grace Nelson of Winfield, Alberla, Clarice (Alfred) Cartier of Winfield, Alberta and Ingrid (Bill) McIntosh of Condor, Alberla Also surviving is Aunt Maggie-Van Humbeck of Campbell River at the age of 90 years. A Memorial service will be held in Mackenzie at the Baptist Church, 4pm, Saturday, January 27.___________________________________ PARKER — Charles Godfrey Parker, born October 15, 1913 in Lincolnshire, England, immigrated to' Arden, Manitoba, Canada in 1924, moved to Prince George with his wife and two children in 1940, where he made his home until his retirement in 1967 when he moved to the Okanagan and passed away after a lengthy illness on January 5,1990, aged 76. Predeceased by one son Ronald and one grandson Duncan. Survived by his loving wife Esther, one daughter Phyllis and husband Jack Warren, Kelowna Six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, four sisters. No service by request of family.
