   MOSCOW (Reuter) — Villagers near the Russian town of Lipetsk think thirsty visitors from space may be trying to kidnap the local milkman, a newspaper reported this week.
   The daily Selskaya Zhizn quoted Vladimir Akhaltsev as saying he was trailed by a shining ball one
night as he drove his milk truck to a dairy near Lipetsk, • close to the southern city of Voronezh where Soviet media reported the landing of three-eyed extra-terrestrials last fall.
   It said Akhaltsev speeded up to escape the alien craft, but even when he reached 100 kilometres an

   When the terrified driver reached the dairy and told the watchman of his encounter, the man pointed silently to the ball hovering above a nearby shop.
   Farmers in three villages also
claimed to have seen the ball, the paper said, leading them to ask: “If thirsty humanoids steal our driver, who is going to deliver the milk?”
  Russians are fascinated by unidentified flying objects and the media regularly carries reports of unusual landings.

 The RCMP Detachment is seeking an individual to be responsible for inventory and procurement control, disbursement of funds, property management and vehicle fleet management. Acting as a resource to the Detachment regarding administrative procedures, preparing and monitoring the municipal budget and hiring, training and supervising a variety of municipal employees will also be a large portion of the duties of the Clerk V.
 The successful incumbent will possess a two-year business course at the college level plus four years' related experience, or completion of the first two years' of CGA or RIAplus four years' related experience or seven years’ related experience preferably with a municipality and/or in a police environment. Two years’ experience in a Canadian Police Force as a Peace Officer or in a law enforcement capacity or demonstrated equivalent experience is preferred. Knowledge of electronic data processing and vehicle repairs and maintenance as well as supervisory experience are also required. The ability to obtain an RCMP Security Clearance is necessary.
 The City offers a salaty range of $2,712.86 to $2,935.52 per month as well as a comprehensive benefits package.

      One of British Columbia's largest and most progressive school districts requires a Health and Safety Education Officer. Reporting to the Manager of Purchasing and Distribution Services, the Health and Salety Education Officer supports district compliance with all health, safety and environmental legislation and provides leadership in these areas. The person also works with district's schools, departments and the Staff Development Branch to identify and train first aid personnel and trains employees in hazardous material use, proper labelling and disposal.
