TRIM Soccer association has a national goal Focus Citizen photos by BRENT BRAATEN Jt^rince George’s soccer facilities received rave reviews this past weekend during the B.C. Rec Cup tournament. Some of the best men’s and women’s teams in the province, including five local teams, competed for provincial titles at the Rotary Youth and North Cariboo Men’s fields. Canadian Soccer Association representatives said they were impressed with the facilities. Local B.C. Soccer Association director Shafeed Rahman said the weekend showed Prince George could host a national-team event, and he said he will now get the ball rolling to that end. The winning teams from the weekend were Williams Lake (men) and Victoria Castaways (women). The Prince George McQuick/Tra-cy Bell Physio Shooters finished third on the women’s side of the draw. Other local teams that competed were Croatia/Ironhorse (women), Deloitte & Touche (women), Croatia/The Keg (men) and Honda North/Citizen (men).
