(Ret) passed away December 10th at St. Mary's Hospital in Sechelt. Born in Victoria, November 28, 1931. She lost one battle but won a greater one in retaining her dignity and the endless love and admiration of her family. Claire is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Walter, and her six children: Eve (Harris), Johanna (Larry), Heidi (Paul), Karl (Laura), Kristen (Terry), Orlando (Suzanne). Also, her greatest pride, seven grandchildren: Arden, Chester, Alex, Haden, Eden, Grayson and Elle. They loved and adored their Gramma. Claire was our light and inspiration, supporting and encouraging our every move. Claire never ended her conversations with us without her cheery "I love you". We love you Gramma. Claire was a devoted angler and loved the spring salmon fishing on the Skeena River with family and friends. Gardening was also high on her priorities and she did it well with pride. The annual trip to Maui was a highlight in the year's activities. Claire nursed for over 45 years and cherished the many letters of excellence she had received. Her last nursing post was with the Kiwanis (KVCH) in Gibsons, where she admired and respected her colleagues. There is to be no service, but there will be a family memorial in the coming Spring when nature has re nurtured the earth. In lieu of floral tributes a gesture of donation to St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary in Sechelt, of which Claire was an active proud member, would be appreciated. John will be sadly missed by his loving wife; Donna of 39 years. John came to Prince George in 1928 from Greece. He was born in Lidhorikion, a little town approximately 100 miles north-west of Athens. In the early years he worked in the logging industry working with horses. He served overseas in WW II. After returning from Europe he worked in the beverage business in various hotels and clubs in Prince George, retiring in 1978 at the age of 75. John was a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose, a 40 year member of the Elks and a 58 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He served with the RCAF during WWII. Educated in Alberta and at UBC in Vancouver, Norm retired from the Ministry of Social Services in Fort St. John in 1987. Predeceased by his wife Florence in 1992 and his brother Bill in 1988.
