School will soon be done. It was 10 months of hard work and early mornings. Our earliest morning was our midnight to 9 a.m. sandwich-making session for the B.C. Senior Games. With classes at CNC coming to a close and the sun starting to shine, I'm looking forward to summer. I'll be inside working, but every minute off I hope to be outside -- lying in the sun, swimming, fishing, camping, and making dinner on the barbecue. For me, nothing beats the flavour a barbecue gives food, especially salmon. Types of salmon are: Atlantic, pink, sockeye, chum, chinook and coho or silver. About four per cent of salmon caught every year are caught by sports fishermen. Atlantic salmon are the most important stock commercially, accounting for one quarter of all salmon caught worldwide. Salmon Method 1. Rinse fish under cold running water and dry with paper towel. 2. Prepare the stuffing: Melt the butter in a small skillet and add onion and celery, cooking over medium heat until tender (five minutes). Remove from heat and blend in the salt, zest, dill and sour cream. Mix in the bread crumbs. Spoon the stuffing into the cavity of the salmon. 3. Close the cavity by inserting skewers or toothpicks at one-inch intervals. Secure by lacing together with strong string. Rub the fish with oil. 4. Place on a sheet of foil on the middle grill over medium heat, with the lid lowered, not closed. You may also place the salmon in a fish basket on the rotisserie. Serves four. Cooking times: 1 - 2 lbs 10 minutes each side. 2 - 3 lbs 15 minutes each side. 4 - 5 lbs 20 minutes each side. Fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork. Serve with juice from the foil package. The settlement approved Tuesday gives nearly half of the estate to Brown's charitable trust, about a quarter to his wife and young son, and the rest to Brown's adult children. The settlement establishes that Tomi Rae Hynie Brown is the surviving spouse and that her son is James Brown's child. James Brown II is not going to be required to take a DNA test. The value of Brown's assets has not been made public since his death in 2006. The judge who approved the settlement also says Brown's relatives will create a museum or other memorial burial place for Brown. The Godfather of Soul is currently buried on his daughter's land. She's pregnant he's getting cold feet Dear Annie: I am a confused and stressed-out 28-year-old pregnant woman. I have been with my boyfriend for almost a year. Although we have an awesome relationship, since my pregnancy, he hasn't told me he loves me or even insinuated that he does. "Ryan" has a seven-year-old daughter with another woman, and their relationship isn't very good. A month ago, he called her house to talk to his kid and his ex answered and made a comment that she "will always love him." I have two children from a previous relationship and understand her feelings, but what bothered me is that after that conversation, Ryan acted nervous. It really bugged me. I worry that Ryan still loves her. I don't know if I should stay. Would it be better for me to walk out, hoping it will help him decide how he truly feels? I don't want to add stress to my pregnancy, but it's hard to keep the thoughts away. -- Confused and Pregnant in Michigan Dear Michigan: We think Ryan is afraid of the responsibility of babies and that's why he has trouble staying with women who have them. Your pregnancy makes him feel trapped, and the seductive enticements of his ex, with a seven-year-old, seem to offer an easier path. You can't force Ryan to love you, but walking out lets him off the hook. Tell him you've noticed he seems less invested in the relationship, and that although you understand he is a bit skittish, you expect him to live up to his responsibilities as a father. That includes financial support and regular contact with his child, whether he lives with you or not. Dear Annie: My 21-year-old daughter, "Tess," recently moved to another state to live with her boyfriend. We think he is around 50. My birthday dinner is coming up, and Tess called to say she was bringing her beau so he could meet us for the first time. Annie, I don't want to meet him at what is supposed to be a nice, relaxing birthday dinner. I called and asked Tess if they could come on a different weekend instead. She called her other siblings, crying, claiming I was being unfair, that I was alienating her boyfriend and that if she couldn't bring him, she wouldn't be at the dinner, either. I realize I don't have to like the partners my children choose. Tess knows how we feel about the age difference, but she won't discuss it. Am I wrong? -- Frustrated Mom Dear Frustrated: This isn't a right or wrong issue. Of course you are entitled to have the birthday dinner you want without having to deal with Tess' new boyfriend. But this is the man she is living with, and you risk losing her if you refuse to be more flexible. When children select inappropriate partners, it is often out of rebellion. Oksana Grigorieva and Mel Gibson arrive for the "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" screening in Los Angeles in this recent photo. Gibson and Grigorieva are expecting their first child. AP photo Mel's gal pal expecting The Associated Press LOS ANGELES -- Mel Gibson says he and his girlfriend, Russian musician Oksana Grigorieva, are expecting a baby. The announcement comes only six weeks after Gibson's wife filed for divorce. The 53-year-old actor confirmed that 39-year-old Grigorieva is pregnant this week on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno. The baby will be his eighth. Gibson's wife Robyn cited irreconcilable differences in her April 13 divorce petition to end their marriage of 28 years. The 53-year-old Oscar winner has seven children with Robyn, but the couple has been separated for almost three years. Teased by Leno about having so many children, Gibson said, "I guess I'm the Octomel now."
