2 BitsandBytes WWW.PGCITIZEN.CA | THURSDAY, JUNE 5, 2014 What's trending? The red card: Officials for the 2014 World Cup have announced that a certain element that gained popularity - and yet, simultaneous hatred - at the South Africa World Cup in 2010 won’t be welcome in this year’s tournament in Brazil. So say goodbye to the vuvuzela. Fireworks, food and big banners are also on the no-go list at the South American country’s soccer stadiums this summer. YES! VUVUZELAS ARE BANNED IN THE WORLD CUP. — @smoran92 No vuvuzelas allowed at the World Cup? So my motivation to watch soccer would be? — @DougBush2 Must say I'm looking forward to a World Cup without the sound of swarming bees that is vuvuzelas for 90 minutes. — @the_cannon No vuvuzelas at the World Cup? What are people going to complain about all month then? — @KylePayne_28 How do you expect to have a World Cup without vuvuzelas? #yacant — @doug_larsen Just had a flashback to the vuvuzelas at South Africa in 2010. The worst World Cup in my lifetime. — @johntyodonty Vuvuzelas banned from the World Cup? I don't care how annoying that sound gets.... Vuvuzelas are a World Cup necessity!! — @MackyLS94 SONG OF THE DAY CHRISTINE HINZMANN The recent announcement of Brad Paisley's Oct. 6 P.G. concert sparked some interest for the newsroom staff. Shout outs went to Paisley's funny little ditties like I'm Gonna Miss Her, referred to more often than not as the Fishin' Song, and his sexier songs like his Remind Me duet with Carrie Underwood. But we always came back to the song that pits the fish against the woman and the fish wins. It's - I hope - a tongue-in-cheek look at relationships and how they tend to work. You can so easily deduce that Paisley and his real-life wife Kimberly Williams are showcasing people in the early part of their marriage where people still like each other enough to want to spend time together. Well, at least the woman does, not so much the man. Ask most of the foreverly wedded couples out there and it would look a bit different. The wife would be standing at the door with the tackle box and rod in her hands, acting out the old saying 'here's your hat, what's your hurry?' with a smile on her face because she's actually going to have the remote in her hot little hands. Ya'll don't come back here too soon, ya' hear? Enjoy the video: http://youtu.be/WwRrKaq0IyY. Oh, and tickets for Paisley's concert go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. if you want to see him in person. flyer index L.
