A12 THE FREE PRESS PEOPLE JANUARY 11, 1996 the future This is the time of year when people try to keep New Year’s resolutions and think about what lies ahead for the coming year. To save me some of the trouble, I went to see Sandra at Bell, Book & Candle in an attempt to have my resolutions predicted for me. Since no professional palm readers live in Prince George, that I could find, Sandra is one ol the few amateur palm prognosticators that would tell me anything. I opened the door to smell heavy incense fragrances, and look at the books and trinkets. Seeing Sandra, I immediately shove my hand under her nose to silently declare “Read it!” Grasping both my hands in hers, she begins to scan me, to Amateur palm reader Sandra Ware can tell a lot about people by looking at their hands. Chris Simnett/Free Press feel what my emotions and pains are through my aura. At this point she has not looked at my hands but is using her clairvoyance. In a word: cheating. Her hands trace over my palms, indicating what each line or bump represents. Pointing to my long life line, she tells me how accident prone I am - indicated by all the perpendicular lines cross- ing it. After this I am enthralled, suddenly wanting to know how successful I will become, how much traveling I will do, the number of significant relationships I will have in my lifetime. Each answer is located in a different area of my hand. On one line she reveals pieces of my character concerning matters of my heart and mind. On another she reveals how flip- pant 1 am towards romantic relationships. Could such things be true? The palm reading predictions are interesting, but seem general and not time-specific. They are as vague as any New Year’s Resolutions and their effect on the future. Perhaps instead of trying to predict my resolutions, I will create my own -as usual. Getting a read on This weekend the Civic Centre was the site for a psychic fair that attracted scores of people interested in having their palms read, tarvt cards drawn, and the murky waters of their future rippled In a quest to see through the paranormal veil that envelops Prince George, Brenda Irwin went looking for a palm reading from a local mystic.
