Photos by John McKenzie of! The 1996 Canadian Northern Children’s Festival Last year the Canadian Northern Children’s Festival had great weather, for the first time in their history. This year Mother Nature decided to start a trend. For the most part, this year’s festival was ideal for tykes and nobody said anything if an adult or two was caught having a good time as well. The festival this year was a bit of an experimental one. Instead of the big names that came through last year, the acts were lesser known, but more unique. African music, pre- historic lava and bones, martial aits from India, and some juggling as well. This was a well-rounded exhibition of kids performers, and they had some style and culture as well. Fun and education came out to play together, and thousands of children seemed to like their game. One more time, the Canadian Northern Children’s Festival has proved itself as the paramount kids event in the nation. What memories are made
