Under the N...W. Under the TNW...Bingo! Theatre North West (TNW) is calling out the winning numbers on an upscale game of bingo this coming week. Their special fund-raising event combines the best elements of social nightlife and the best elements of bingo. Everybody in Prince George knows what it is to go play a game of bingo, but when was the last time you wore a tuxedo? Or a cocktail dress? And when was the last time it was held at the Coast Inn of the North? This is Black Tie Bingo, ladies and gentlemen, and for those in the high brow leagues or the regular bingo crowd it is a chance to have some fun-and-games on everybody’s terms. Black Tie Bingo is a special fund-raiser with the emphasis on “fun”. The menu is chi-chi bingo fare with checkerboard pizza, breaded chicken lips, elephant ears, psychedelic nacho chips, salsa and sour cream dips, all the way up to vegetable towers, and on down to cheese puffs and chips. Tickets are $15 which includes admission, your first bingo game, appies, entertainment and a lot of fun. TNW general manager Anne Laughlin says “Auxiliary bingo cards cost a twoonie, and local celebrities will be selling the cards and calling the games. Dress is ‘black tie’ which at a bingo game translates into virtually anything...although (we) encourage those attending to dress up (to add) to the ambiance of the evening. Rumour has it that there will be some outfits to see worth the price of admission alone!” Of course if bingo is the game, then prizes are the goal and there is no difference here. All kinds of unique and covetous prizes are available to be won if all the numbers line up under the right letters. And just because you’re dressed up doesn’t mean you have to be stodgy. Yell those Bingos! out as loud as possible. □ Prizes include: Cougars game in a luxury suite, Via Rail trip for four to Jasper, weekend for two at the Coast Inn, dinners, movie passes, spa visits, tires, Pacific Western Brewery beverages, RRSPs, cash, gift certificates and more. Black Tie Bingo takes place at the Coast Inn of the North ballroom on January 22 starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 563-6969.
