A18 THE FREE PRESS WHAT’S ON FEBRUARY 22, 2001 Gone to the dogs Catherine Trepanier plays Sylvia, a dog, who is befriended by a man (Geoff Rhodenizer) in the middle of a mid-life funk. John McKenzie/Free Press Theatre comes to dinner at the Coast Inn of the North. For one $40 ticket audience members get a fine meal and the award-winning comedy Sylvia, starring community actors Catherine Trepanier, Geoff Rhodenizer, April Ottesen, David Quast and directed by Allison Haley. The play concerns a man caught up in a middle-age depression who finds a stray dog that slowly becomes his greatest joy. The situation resembles, in an odd man’s-best-friend way, an affair of the heart. Naturally it bothers his wife to no end. Sylvia is a presentation of Serious Moonlight Productions. Tickets are available at the Coast Inn front desk and Studio 2880. It runs three nights only: February 22, 23 and 24.
