John mcKenzie/free press Frederick back in trouble with the law The young woman given a conditional sentence for manslaughter is back in trouble with the law. In January 2000, Belinda Rose Frederick was found not guilty of second degree murder, as charged, but guilty of manslaughter in relation to the stabbing death of her former com-mon-law husband Kevin Richard York, 21. She was sentenced in June 2000 to a community- based conditional sentence of two years less a day. But a week later, she was arrested in Carrie Jane Gray Park, drunk. Her conditional sentence was suspended, pending a hearing on the breach. She was ultimately found guilty of breach and her conditional sentence was suspended. That means she still has just under two years of her conditional sentence to complete. She was recently released from the Burnaby Correctional Centre for Women after finishing her sentence for the breach, but was arrested again late last week. The Crown alleges she was drunk and had taken heroin. She was taken to detox and earlier this week Justice Ian Meik-lem ordered an arrest warrant. Her conditional sentence will once again be suspended pending the outcome of these allegations.
