Libel and slander will NOT be printed J Dear Editor As a student of this college, I am becoming increasingly concerned about our Student Association. These people were elected to be a representative of the student body. We, the students of CNC. financially back the S.A. , through our fees. It is our money which makes the very existance of the S.A. possible. Students expect, and not unreasonably so, the S.A. to perform responsibly and in the best interest of the student body. But, what have we received in return. As far as I can see, not a whole HELL of a lot. The President, who we rarely see, has performed with disgraceful ineptness. His little public forum in the cafeteria was a joke. His concerns about proposed fee increases -are obviously misplaced. This was proven through the attendance at the Fee Increases Forums. Only 7 people showed for the second, and 8 at the third. At the first, noone bothered. The Measurer knows as much about Accounting as the walls in the cafeteria. After reading his report that was posted 6n the -.boards, one can only assuine that he will either take the appropriate courses or not be plan ning to become an accountant. The Sports Club Co-ordinator must be spending his ti'ne' co-ordinating basket balls. Any more time spent discussing his inactions would be a waste of time. The Vice-President is just that, the president of vice. His behavior at the Geo-Truckers Pub Night was shameful and he should be reprimanded The rest of council should not sit smuggly by. They have not been a screaming success STAFF CREDIT EDITOR - Marvin C. This council has managed to do very little with our dollars. So far, they've hired a person to work in. the office. All hes managed to accomplish is to further alienate the student body with his antics. There are other critisms to be leveled. The pub night levy that we are forced to pay, for asking the council to do what they are expected to do would be laughable if it weren't tragic. It would be nice to see these people earn their $50 a month honorariums. They could try representing the students rather than the CFS. If our fees weren't mandatory, the S.A. would not exist, and as it stands now, it should not be allowed to exist. Angry Student and out $16 Name withheld by request. STUDENT ASSOCIATION The February 11,1982 meeting of student council was filled up mostly with administrative details and very little important business. The Ombudsperson brought up the matter of the student lists which the council is supposed to have and which the Dean of student services had given to the treasurer of the council. Apparently , somewhere along t. he line the lists for last semester got lost and voices were raised when the Ombudsperson asked where the list was. After much delay, arguing and unnecessary paperwork the Free Press was given the portion of its allotted monies that it needed to continue to publish. The council President tried to present a couple of ideas for con sideration but was quickly shot down by the treasurer for not having a written presentation ready with concrete plans. The President did not want to put anything into writing untill Lt had been discussed in council. The treasurer seemed almos reluctant to even listen. The treasurer has agreed to set up $100 drawing' accounts for members to cover expenses such as babysitters, travel expenses etc. Council members will be able to spend up to $100 from these accounts without having to ask permission untill they request ratification at the end of the month.
