Thursday, October 6, 1 988 ? ' Daniel Lansall, Editor Hi again. Well we're late acrain. clubs that are for CNC students. As you can see some groups have taken advantage of this already. In the time between issues, we sometimes look forward with fear to the comments that will come into the office about the last issue. This last week has been a full one. Ive been physically threatened, and calmly talked to, but the Hopefully sometime most disturbing com- soon we can get up to speed. I would like to remind you that you can get FREE advertising here if ment I recieved was a phone call from a woman, who said she was disabled and couldn't come into see me. She took with the umbrage you have a valid student card, for "N1ht wl Sqmiwks" student activites and article, in particular Vote Jennifer Revel for a linewhich read "A human being simply can not go on listening to a lecture for that long as anyone with parents knows, "(p. 3) She felt that we were a bunch of "Muppy Yuppies" who don't give a damn what our parents think. I personally don't think that there is any way you can deal with this kind of statement. I didn't know "what to say, and got upset when she put me down. I appologize to her for the things I said on the phone, but won't retract the words that were printed in the article. We try to "write on a less formal External Officer A Revel with a cause! Annual General M eeting Rm 1-115 Oct. 12, '88 at noon basis than a regular newspaper, without falling into slang and jargon. We do however feel that we are "in touch" with the feelings of the students in this case. The headline, "Child Abuse Rampant", also raised more than one eyebrow. I freely admit that the headline was "Enquire-ish", it was meant to be. The article mentioned lightly and briefly the subject of child abuse, not necessarily physical abuse, but rather the imposing on other's morals (what's right, what's wrong) on your children. And I also defend my choice of headlines. If you don't like them, come down to the office on Tuesday, and help us pick headlines, that pique the readers interest, and tell something about the article. On to more pleasing notes, as you can see Shawn Petriw has been his usual over active self. He brought in eight ads, and over $300 to the issue. If he keeps this us he will have no problem meeting the $3000 budget for advertising this year. See you next time. Daniel Lansall, Editor.
