Warm
under
my
blanket,

rock
in
my
chair,
staring
out
the
bay
window,
while
behind
me,
a
fire
crackles,
breaking
the
silence
of
a
sleeping
world.
outside,
starlight
transforms
ice
encrusted
trees
into
monuments
of
diamonds.
A
gust
of
wind
bears
aloft
a
flutter
of
snow
which
sparkles
in
the
light
like
silver
dust.
The
hollow
sigh
of
the
wind,
makes
me
glad
for
the
cup
of
hot
cocoa
which
warms
my
hand.
The
crackle
of
fire,
the
whisper
of
wind,
and
the
gentle
squeak
of
a
rocker
invokes
in
me
an
overwhelming
peace,
and
I
am
again
reminded
of
how
wonderful
life
is.
