The world he writes about in prose and poetry appears again in musical form, whenever he takes the stage at folk clubs, college campuses and concert halls. ' Sid Marty, Canadian poet, free-lance writer, and folk-singer will be the WRITER IN RESIDENCE at CNC from Monday, November 5 to Thursday November 8. He is the author of the award-winning best-lseUerfflen for the Mountains . a book about his experiences as a warden in Banff National Park; Headwaters, a celebrated and germaine "book of poetry that also deals With his experience in the Rocky Mountains; and Nobody Danced with Miss Rodeo - a book with' more mountains and prairie, - poerns that move with a "sidewinding sense of humour." This year Sid just completed his first and long overdue recording, Let the River Run, with David Wilkie and the Great Western Orchestra as the backup band.
