The Centre provides free pregnancy tests, option counselling, and post-abortion counselling. It helps work through the issues which are faced, and can also refer people at no cost to professional agencies in town who can help see the cisis through. These ways include homes for women to stay in or room or board, and are reffered at no charge to the Pregnancy Centre. The Centre is run by a director and volunteer counsellors. The Centre is funded entirely by patrons at large. It is not tied to any religious denomination. A counsellor says they see up to 5 new cases each week, and carry follow-up appointments as well. The age of women or families seeking support ranges from 14 to the late 30's. The Centre generally finds that clients take their pregnancies to term, and then about one-third of the babies are adopted out to other families. The friendship counsiling is available by calling the Pregnancy Centre in the phone book, or visiting them in their office between Fabricland and One Stop Video near Arby's on Westwood Drive.
