PJANUARY 1 0, 1 995 For any and all of you who have been watching with baited breath the addition on the Coliseum, guess what? I have the scoop on what is going into the building, both in the new extension and in the existing facilities. Mr Ray Boogards, who works in the Leisure Services Depatment of the fCity gave me all the details in a phone interview on January 9th, 1995. In the extension of the Coliseum, on the bottom floor, there is going to be a large team changeroom for the tenant team of the rink. This will be the Prince George Cougars until the Mul by S. Rousell, staff writer 1995 is upon us and I can tell it's going to be a good one! Can you feel it? It's a brand new year and all of last year's problems can be set aside with the hope that this year will be different. And it will be! Your time is what you make of it, as are your surroundings. As Max Ehrmann stated, "With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world." Don't you see how wonderful things can be with a posi tive outlook? That's what New Year's Resolutions are all about. It is a chance for a person to right all the wrongs of the previous year. Here are some resolutions from around the college. i Holly Hultman: "To be more positive." Katherine Cruwys: "To concentrate more on my studies." Craig Beattie: "To spend less money." Marcie Abundo: "To get a nose ring and a tattoo of an otter." mMs&& Ltft!liIiTg THEFR tiplex is finished, and the Prince George Spruce Kings after the Multiplex is is complete. Upstairs in the Coliseum, there will be a 70 by 20 foot Multipurpose room, and two new public washrooms which will be disabled access and will include baby changing tables in both the Men's and Women's restrooms. The multi-purpose room will be available for Concession use, and public meetings. Contrary to rumours of the opposite there will be no beer garden included in the expansion scheme. There simply are not enough exits to Rick Frederickson: "To help as many people break their New Year's resolutions as possible." However, there are plans to improve the exits and possibly create some new ones. Perhaps someday there will be beer served in the Coliseum, but it is not in the forseeable future Where the existing changerooms are will be used for expanding hallways. There will also be a new referees room, and a new staffroom for rink employees. Both will be equiped with showers and washrooms. Included also is two new pub Tlie lieum Expansicn What Cives? by J. It seems incredible that all this can go into the existing facility with only a minor extension. It will bring the Coliseum up to date and make it a more desirable location to keep a team. This expansion is not only good it is also comparatively inexpensive. Because most of the renovations are being done on the existing facility, it drastically reduces the cost. J0yj l0$fff Jy&Uf w8it&$ It seems to me that out of several thousands of students attending college at CNC, I would be able to get more than eight people who had a New Year's resolution! I was amazed to hear the numerous people tell me that they never made resolutions. So what if we always break them, who cares if it's a stupid practice ... it's a New Year's tradition! Without traditions, where would we be? My own resolution has been to get in better shape and I am now going to a gym. Stupid yes, but I still made one because it's a part of the New Year that I love. I enjoy seeing how long I can keep my resolution and which of my friends breaks theirs first. If you are honestly trying to keep your resolution, my only suggestion is make the effort and stay away from Rick! Happy New Year!! V Gasline antifreeze is your car's manna in cold weather.
