ISSUE 2 1996 11 . & - ffv I TAKE COMFORT IN YOU 7wk little comfort in this world. I have felt an uneasiness in the presence of other people since my earliest recollections. It is a type of uneasiness that would seem to come from estrangement from society, yet I have felt it all my life. However, there are exceptions to every rule, and such is the case for me as well. I have been truly blessed in my short lifetime to have come in contact with some extraordinary people. People who possess an infectious spinty, and an insatiable hunger for life. People that I am almost at once comfortable with. Mike Reid, was such a person. His gentle and unassuming ways bread a kind of familiarity, I find rare and precocity; that I as drawn towards. These special people I have given the title of "Master" As only masters can touch lightly, indelibly, and sow the seeds of their passion in the hearts of others. In my short time with Mike he taught me some valuable lessons that I shall not soon forget; he gave me the gift of another perspective. In Mike 's passing I have found a new resurgence of purpose, and am reminded that my presence on earth does not have to be profound to be purposeful. That every day I should strive to do the best that I can do, and make a positive difference in the little ways that I can. The loss of Mike diminishes my notion of humanity, but his contribution will live on as long as my memory does. My memories of Mike give me comfort and hope and I will not soon forget...
