Movie a fU ISSUE 2 1996 The movie, Extreme Measures, staring Hugh Grant, Gene Hackman, and Sarah Jessica Parker is definitely a suspense. Grant is a doctor who has just recently been accepted to a fine neurology school. While waiting for his internship to start, he is practising medicine in the ER at a local hospital. One night, a patient comes into the hospital in nothing but a wrap of plastic, and a silver hospital band. This man is incredibly sick and dies under Grant's care. Having never seen the symptoms that the strange man possessed, Grant sets out to find answers. When the body (in autopsy) mysteriously disappears and the head chief of autopsy tells Grant that his hospital is known for losing patients, Grant becomes obsessed with finding answers. Getting too close to the truth, he must be stopped. To what measures will Grant go to search out the horrible truth? To what measures would you go to seek out justice? EXTREME MEASURES "Extreme Measures" was an excellent movie. The first ten or fifteen minutes of the show I was thinking," Oh great, another Chicago Hope," but I was totally wrong. The plot kept me guessing up to the very end of the show, and the suspense had my eyes glued to the screen. I recommend checking it out. I loved this movie. It was amazing. My eyes never left the screen. This is the best show I have seen in a long time. This was one of those shows that you leave thinking, what would I have done? Three days later, I am still raving about this movie. I would definitely suggest seeing it on the big screen. Bruce Willis plays a free-lance gangster running from the law, with hopes of soon reaching Mexico. Passing through a small town in Texas, Willis decides to stop, get a bite to eat, and possibly spend the night. While passing through town, a local gang headed by Doyle busts up Willis' car. Later that evening Willis confronts the gang in a shoot out. When the other gang in town, headed by Strozzer, hears of the shoot-out, he immediately invites Willis onto his payroll. Willis being a freelancer transfers his services between gangs to the highest bidder at the time. Seeing how both leaders treat their leading ladies, Willis makes destroying both gangs his personal vendetta. LAST MAN STANDING I liked "Last Man Standing." There was a lot of action and gun fights through out the whole movie which is very typical of Bruce Willis' movies. The plot could have been a little bit more interesting, and a little less predictable. In my opinion the action made up for the things that the movie lacked in. I thought watching this movie was a complete waste of time. There was absolutely no point to the plot at all. Even Bruce Willis, a well known and liked actor, really did poorly by overacting the gangster, cowboy role. I must say though that the make up artist was phenomenal in preparing Willis' face after the scene where he was severely beaten up. I cer tainly wouldn't advise anybody to waste their time and hard earned money on this show unless they want some make up tips for Halloween.
