14 ISSUE 6 1997 TYSON VS. HOLYPieLO Throughout the years the Heavyweight title has seen it's peaks and valleys. Twenty years ago it was at an all time peak, everyone was a contender, upsets happened and the best boxer won. Around 5 years ago it was in a deep, deep valley and it didn't look good. Mike Tyson was in jail and no one seemed to step up a notch to take over the crown. Well, now we are seeing the Heavyweight title become better and better. This is the way it should be. The Tyson - Holyfeild fight was awesome. Scoops here had a front row ticket for this fight, hey it helps to have Don King as a buddy! Holy feild boxed a perfect fight. Tyson had no opportunity to take control. Holyfeild used his reach to his advantage, stayed on the outside the whole time picking and choosing his punches. If Tyson got inside he might have won the fight, but Holyfeild didn't let him. I didn't think Holyfeild would have the power to knock Tyson out, but he did. I had the same mentallity as everyone else basically. I thought Tyson would win in the 3rd round or so. I thought maybe, if the fight went on longer, Holyfeild could do something, but I still never thought Holyfeild would do it. This has now put an interesting twist on the whole Heavyweight scenario. Bowe vs. Golatta II was a good fight except Golatta was disqualified for a brutal low blow. Golatta was in control of the entire fight though. Lennox Lewis will do nothing, Buster Mathis is doubtful as well. But now we will have a couple of great fights upcoming, hopefully a Tyson - Holyfield rematch will come. If it does, I still honestly feel that Tyson would win, he'll be mad and that is a scary thought. Korean Hapkido is a non-competitive martial art.
