Cuckoo's
Vest,
Jack
Nickolson's
spirited
character,
McMurphy,
departs
an
ongoing
message
-
live
free
or
die.
The
editors
at
Free
Forum
have
concluded
that
escape
is
still
possible
even
from
the
most
oppressive
conditions
-
and
for
the
Free
Forum,
those
conditions
have
turned
out
to
be
the
design
and
content
rules
of
a
traditional
newspaper
format
-
which
can
be
as
inflexible
as
Nurse
Ratched's
rules!
Inspired
by
the
movie's
last
scene,
we
recognize
that
there
is
always
a
chance
to
seize
destiny
and
escape
the
system.
We
will
need
writers
for
mini
features,
creators
for
exciting
graphics,
and
other
keeners
who
want
to
experience
an
innovative
environment.
Free
Forum
will
be
undergoing
radical
changes
in
the
next
month,
and
readers
will
be
greeted
with
a
new
look,
style,
and
content
that
is
fresh,
fun,
and
relevant
to
CNC
Students
and
the
Prince
George
community.
However,
as
McMurphy
learns
in
the
end,
a
fight
against
conformity
often
comes
with
a
heavy
toll.
Although
the
editors
will
not
be
submitting
to
the
effects
of
a
frontal
lobe
lobotomy,
Free
Forum
will
not
be
publishing
a
December
issue,
directing
our
energies
instead
into
the
January
2004
publication.
We
want
to
bring
the
paper-to
a
happier
place...
a
place
where
design
rules
are
broken
each
issue
with
spirited
non-conformity,
a
place
where
social
rules
are
thrown
out
the
window
like
a
limestone
bathroom
fixture.
A
place
where
CNC
students
determine
thier
destiny.
