Dear Members, Happy New Year and welcome back to all new and returning members; what a wonderful time of year and what a relief that the crazy season is over and onto the next. Just before the end of last semester, we moved quickly on a new approach for the Reduce Tuition Fees campaign, which took the form of Holiday Cards. I am proud to say we got a total 398 cards which were sent to various MLA's in our region; including Premiere Campbell, Minister of Advanced Education Murray Coell, and Cariboo North MLA - Bob Simpson just to name a few. As always, we worked hard with other student unions association across the province such as Thompson Rivers University Students' Union, Capilano Students' Union and University of Victoria Students' Society. I will admit it is going to be a very busy semester for us all, as we will be holding a bi-election for the College Relations Coordinator and Indigenous Students Liaison; also, during this time we will be presenting some referendum questions for consideration. One of which will be the allocation of the building fund to the joint project between us and the college. In addition to this, there will be several events throughout this month leading up to the National Day of Action on February 7, but as well, there are other opportunities where you can get involved. As we keep working together, we work at building a stronger Northern Community Voice, not just for CNC but for everyone, for we are tomorrow's leaders, and together we can show British Columbia just what CNC Students are really made of!
