INCONVENIENT TKUTH By Andrew Steele If we do not change the way we live and consume within the next ten years, it will be too late. This is the core idea behind the documentary film 'An Inconvenient Truth', which deals with the current global crisis of global warming. The film is based around a series of lectures given by former US Vice President Al Gore... Now wait, hold on a second. Al Gore? While his name may not be exactly synonymous with environmentalism, it turns out Gore has been actively involved with the cause for years, studying global warming trends and causes, and giving presentations around the US and the World. So how's the film? In a word, terrifying. Gore presents highly persuasive evidence of or current plight, and does so in a very factual, non-alarmist fashion. Paradoxically, it is his own calm presentation which makes 'Inconvenient Truth' all the more alarming. I may not seem like radical propaganda but rather a step by step, no B.S. account of what could very well be the greatest crisis our kind has ever faced. And while Gore may occasionally go into annoying personal diatribes, we have to forgive him; I mean come on, the guy was a career politician! I feel that everyone should see this movie. The 'Inconvenient Truth' takes global warming out of the concept closet and shows viewers a possible cause of global warming. Jya .. I. K TUDENT PHONES O o o o College of New Caledonia - CNC ion 22
