For the last five years, we along side of the Canadian Federation of Students have been working diligently on the campaign to restore free adult basic education in the province. From calling MLA's, massive petition and post card drives, to public rallies and Provincial Budget consultations we have ' successfully achieved Free Adult Basic Education once again in B.C. On September 18, 2007 the Executive Committee made their annual Presentation to the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services; topics that we addressed were Tuition Fees, Institutional Funding, Student Debt, BC Student Loan Interest, and system of grants for Full and Part-Time Students. i Thank you to everyone for taking interest in running for a position on the Students' Union Executive Committee in the recent by-election. It is inspirational to see dedicated and motivated members take , . such passion in running for election and helping ensure the Students' Union moves forward on its multiple projects. This year we have so much to celebrate from successful campaigns with the CFS, expansion of services for members, and the continued effort in the Student and Cultural Centre project with the college. The biggest accomplishment we should be proud of is that on January 16, 2008 the CNC Students' Union will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary... that's right, we have been around for 30 years; and this is something we will be celebrating for sure. We are looking for volunteers this year to help expand our StudentSaver program; it is free for local businesses to take part and the best part is, you make some extra cash on the side. So swing by the office and find out how you can take part in this incredible service to student's money. In Solidarity J h A ? f f -, Valentine Crawford, Chairperson College of New Caledonia - Ion 2
