Having been an active part of the Canadian Federation of Students for these past few years has been one of the most rewarding parts of holding an elected position with the Students' Union and I could not be more proud of having to have worked for all of you, the students It is not just the ideas that drive the student movement and those dedicated volunteers, it is the dreams that those ideas represent and the possibilities for change and growth that they feed. Students like us have effect major changes in our world, and when I think about our world I think not just about the British Columbia or Canada, I think about the world and what young people like us have done to make things change. In the next 18 months students from all walks of life and of all ages will be faced with three important elections; a possible federal election before summer, municipal elections in November and a Provincial election in May 2009. We as the Students' Union are celebrating our 30th Anniversary this year, and we have spent much time reflecting upon the ideas that have built the very foundation of student involvement in politics and the changes we have effected by working together with other students' from across British Columbia and Canada and that now it has never been so important for us to really look, ask questions and take a stand on what matters to us as a community and a society.
