March was a very busy month for most of the college, as we have all been working diligently to help prevent the college from cutting so many programs and further eroding the college's comprehensive nature and ability to meet the needs of our community From meeting with our local MLA's, the Save CNC Community Rally, meeting with community leaders such as the Mayor and Chamber of Commerce students have been active in putting forward recommendations for change that is long over due, especially in our region 4 As of April 2, 2008 the college, in collaboration with the students, faculty and staff, created an ,mw Environmental bustainability Committee to address the ongoing need tor environmental changes on our F campus regarding power consumption, waste, and water usage On Sunday March 30 it is with great regret to inform you that we were faced with the unfortunate loss of one of our valued members, Jieun (Ashley) Kim, who was here studying from Korea She will be missed and our thoughts and prayers will always be with the Kim family v i . February 14 was our first joint event with the entire college community, the Health and Wellness Fair. , We brought various business and community organizations onto campus to promote healthy and active living for everyone on campus, with great prizes and free fruit and drinks, this has been one of the best v events of the year January 16 marked the 30th Anniversary for the CNC Students' Union and to celebrate we held various events on and off campus, but 2008 is not over yet and we will continue celebrating come September " with more events and free stuff '" , Finally we would like to congratulate all our graduates this year and those who are transferring to other institutions to continue their careers, we have had a great year to together and we wish you all the best of luck with your future endeavours We also look forward to seeing all of you who will be returning in the fall.
