And now it’s time to pass the baton.

I’m moving on to newer things after the
end of this semester, and want to have
the Confluence continue on as the best
student paper in Prince George. Hence
the posting for an editor. Contributions
are still welcome, but the paper will not
continue if we can’t find anyone willing to
do production. It’s your chance to make
a mark on the world, get some creative
freedom over an established small-press
publication and do a bunch of really cool

% things on the newpaper’s budget.

: EDITOR WANTED

This marks the start of my third year
working on the paper. | started in January
2012 with Andy Johnson as Editor in
Chief. Since then, the Confluence has
come out at least once a month with the
support of students at CNC. The paper
could not run without the contributions of
students over the past two years.

The Confluence is seeking an editor for
the student paper at CNC.

Editors aid in producing the paper by
recruiting content, producing content,
editing content and laying out the paper.

An ideal editor has a strong command of
the English language, skills in editing and
writing, and have a working knowledge of
Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
suite.

Detailed postings are posted around the
school and also can be viewed in the SU
office. Please refer to the full posting for
specifics.

Currently the position is open to any
current CNC students in good standing.

U-PASS
REFERENDUM

The Students’ Union has served notice
that the U-Pass program will be going to
referendum in the beginning of February.

The City has asked for a $.88 per month
increase in the U-Pass fee. Students
currently pay $13.50 a month, or $54 a
semester for the service, which grants
unlimited access to public transit in PG,
as well as admission to the PG Aquatic
Centre and the Four Seasons Pool. With
the increase, the fee would come to
$14.38 a month or $57.52 a semester.

Any fee increases for the U-Pass program
must be approved by the student body
at CNC, according to policy and the
Students’ Union’s contract with the City.

The referendum will be held from the
4th to the 6th of February
