CNC Students’ Union Editorial Kyle Rowell This year has had one hell of a start. The American government somehow keeps getting weirder. It rains in January now, and a bunch of people ate tide pods on purpose, as a joke. We learned the only thing harder to swallow than Tim Hortons burnt coffee, is how little they care about the people making it. Millennials are closing down box stores but saving libraries, which is pretty cool. What's not cool is that all those famous people you thought were just wierd, are also sexual predators. Even worse, everyone who protected them for decades are patting themselves on the back for criticizing sexual assaulters publicly, after there was no risk to do so. But we also had a holiday, hopefully with friends and family. We've got the one thing corporate greed, rapist directors, and literally poisonous memes can't take away from us. We've got each other, and the ability to work together for the things we care about. So let’s keep letting Sears go bankrupt, they never worried about us, so why on earth should we ever worry about them. Let’s keep shopping local, and sit in coffee shops where the baristas can feed their kids. Lets go to libraries, and lets keep learning, so we have the tools to fight for something better.
